The Story Behind Wise Turtle
That’s why I created Wise Turtle.
Scroll to begin
Rain.
Snow.
Wind.
Sun.
Because knowing what is coming helps us prepare.
A relationship.
A career.
A dream.
A quiet exhaustion.
Life usually whispers…
long before it shouts.
It changes gradually…
or all at once.
We cannot control it.
But we can learn to read it.
Air
Nothing is wrong.
Yet something doesn’t fit anymore.
Listen.
For years, I ignored that feeling.
Until one day…
I couldn’t anymore.
Looking back, I realize that some of the biggest changes in our lives began with a subtle feeling of discomfort.
After more than twenty years in communications and public relations, something no longer felt right.
On paper, everything looked perfect.
I was respected.
Well known.
Successful.
But every morning, it felt as if I were trying to make my way through deep snow.
Everything took more effort than it should have.
By the end of each day, I felt exhausted—not because I had worked hard, but because I was walking in the wrong direction.
I knew I wanted to leave the field.
People told me I was making a mistake.
“You have experience.”
“Recognition.”
“A name in your field.”
“You can’t just walk away from all of that.”
They were right.
I couldn’t erase those twenty years.
But I also couldn’t keep living a life that no longer felt like mine.
Every time I imagined one more year, I felt myself becoming smaller.
I hated the sound of the alarm clock.
I knew that if I ignored that feeling long enough, I wouldn’t just lose my motivation.
I would lose myself.
So I listened to the wind.
In my forties, I went back to university to become a social worker.
Only later did I realize I hadn’t left my previous career behind at all.
I had built something new on top of everything it had taught me.
Today, communication helps me tell stories.
Stories help people grow.
And every experience I’ve had became part of the compass I now use to guide others.
Sometimes the bravest decision isn’t abandoning your past.
It’s listening to the wind…
and discovering what life has been preparing you for all along.
I thought I was changing careers.
I was actually preparing myself for the future challenges.
Then came a flood no one could predict.
The war.
Immigration.
Everything changed.
The goal wasn’t getting my old life back.
The goal was to build a beautiful new one.
That’s when I discovered what Solid Ground really means.
It isn’t the absence of storms.
It’s the resilience you build before they arrive.
The psychology you learn.
The adaptability you develop.
The people you lean on.
Those became the ground beneath my feet, helping me navigate the storm, support the people I love, and find opportunities hidden inside every challenge.
Then another weather arrived.
It began on an ordinary evening.
My two-year-old son had lost his pacifier.
He was heartbroken.
Nothing seemed to calm him down.
Then something unexpected happened.
Without thinking, I began telling him a story.
About a funny little squirrel who had also lost his pacifier.
How his friends searched everywhere.
How they helped him.
How everything turned out all right.
Somewhere in the middle of the story…
his tears stopped.
He smiled.
And quietly fell asleep after that.
That night, together with a tiny pacifier and one little smile…
And with him…
the entire Wise Turtle Universe.
With stories, play, patience, and a little room for every feeling.
Beautiful.
Exhausting.
Messy.
Funny.
And full of love.
You do not have to navigate it alone.
One small question.
One quiet moment.
One bedtime story at a time.
Books, workshops, one-on-one support, and gentle tools for finding your way through life’s changing weather.
The story continues
Wise Turtle is a growing universe of books, gentle tools, and hopeful ways to navigate life’s changing weather—together.
